Justice Mamman Nasir, former President of the Court of Appeal, who is also the District Head of Malumfashi and Galadiman Katsina yesterday, escaped being kidnapped by gunmen by the whiskers.
The incident occurred at about 9:30pm between Gora and Yammama villages on Dayi-Malumfashi Road in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State were the gunmen blocked the road searching vehicles, looking for whom to kidnap.
Neptune Prime gathered that even though he escaped back home unhurt, his aide, identified as Aminu, was taken away by the kidnappers.
The District Head had switched vehicles to escape but Aminu was not quick enough to escape and was taken away along with other travelers into nearby bushes.
A resident of Malumfashi who preferred anonymity confirmed the incident, and said sympathisers had trooped to the Galadima’s palace to commiserate with him over the incident.
According to him, the traumatized Justice Nasir later asked to be left alone to take a rest as he was badly shaken by the incident.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isa, could not be reached for comment as his mobile phone was switched off.
