Alhaji Yusuf Maitama Sule, foremost statesman and nationalist, popularly known as Dan Masanin Kana, died earlier today in a Cairo hospital after a brief illness according to a statement by his son, Alhaji Muktar Sule.
A presidential aspirant on the platform of the defunct National Party of Nigeria, (NPN), Dan Masani, an orator par excellence, was at various times a minister of the Federal Republic and one time Nigeria’s ambassador to the United Nations.
