The Supreme Court, on Wednesday, ruled that Senator Ali Modu Sheriff ceased to be Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party.
In a unanimous decision by a five-man panel of Justices, the apex court handed over leadership of the party to Senator Ahmed Markafi-led National Working Committee.
The long-term leadership battle at the opposition party has now come to an end with the ruling.
The apex court accused Sheriff of desperation to cling to office at all cost.
