NUJ seeks new Press Center for journalists in Borno

The National President Of Nigeria Union Of Journalists, Comrade Abdulwahid Odusile has called on Borno State Government to consider reconstructing the NUJ Press Centre as part of its rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in the state.
Odusile said the Press Centre was in dire need of a facelift.
The NUJ National President was speaking during an event to mark “Press Week” organised by the Union at the multi purpose Hall of Government House Maiduguri.
The Chairman urged Journalists to ensure ethical standards and fairness in all their reports and called on them to eschew inflammatory reports that could spark violent conflict in the country.

He said the Union believed in ‘One Nigeria’ and warned against hate speeches.
BRTV, Online Daily Post, and Vanguard Newspaper emerged as best media for reporting and challenging insurgency.
Dangote Group and UNHCR also emerged winners for the category of Non Governmental Organisations supporting the fight against terror and their humanitarian efforts.
