Government’s stern warning to advocates of divide and rule and other forms of hate speech is being acted upon as the Nigerian government asked the federal high court to revoke the bail granted to the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.
In a statement, the office of the Attorney General, Abubakar Malami, asked the court to order the re-arrest and detention of Mr. Kanu, pending the determination of the charge against him.
Kanu was charged for treason when he was arrested after he called for the cessation of South East Nigeria from Nigeria to become an independent state of Biafra.
The statement which was signed by special assistant to the Attorney General, Salihu Isah, cited disobedience of court orders, among other issues as grounds for the appeal.
Mr. Kanu, was granted bail in April by an Abuja Division of the Federal High Court on health grounds. Part of hi sir jail terms were to avoid, and desist from holding public rallies or gatherings.
Kanu has however flouted many terms of his bail.

The other defendants facing trial with him were not granted bail, although all of them had sought to be freed.
Meanwhile, Nnamdi Kanu has said he would refuse arrest at all cost as he threatened to even kill in the process.
The Cable online newspaper quoted Mr. Kanu as speaking at the Boys Technical College in Aba, Abia State.
“Some idiots who are not educated said that they’ll arrest me, and I ask them to come. I’m in Biafra land. If any of them leaves Biafra land alive know that this is not IPOB. Tell them that’s what I said.
“Tell Buhari that I’m in Aba and any person who comes to arrest Nnamdi Kanu in Biafra land will die here. I’ll never go on exile I assure you,” the IPOB leader said.
Kanu had earlier called on Anambra indigenes to not vote in the state governorship election, a call that has been condemned by other Eastern groups and leaders.
