The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the sum of N5.792 billion dollars for the expansion of Mambilla Hydro-Electric Power plant.
This was announced during the FEC meeting in Abuja.
The Minister of Power Babatunde Fashola disclosed that the construction of four dams would take 72 months.
Nigeria is expected to provide 15percent counterpart funding in the joint venture agreement with China.
Mambilla is expected to deliver 3,050 megawatts of electricity.but the minister did not disclose when the project would begin.
