The Nigerian Army says 68 Boko Haram members have voluntarily surrendered in the last three weeks.

The surrendered terrorists revealed that many of their enclaves have become undefendable and life has becounbearable owing to the blockade installed by troops and the sustained bombardments.

A statement released by the Deputy Director of Operation Lafiya Dole, Colonel Onyema Nwachukwu, said the bombardments are backed up with long range patrols and ambushes targeted at preventing the fleeing Boko Haram Terrorists from escape and denying them access to logistics supply.

According to the statement, the 68 surrendered Boko Haram members have since turned a new leaf and are currently undergoing rehabilitation and de-radicalization programmes organized by the Federal Government through Operation ‘SAFE CORRIDOR’.

The Nigeria Army also urged the Boko Haram insurgents to  surrender to any military location nearest to them and assured them of their safety and well-being.
