Charly boy collapsed at the anti-Buhari protest that took place in Abuja early on Tuesday.
Some police officers fired tear gas canister and water cannon to disperse the protesting group who were demanding the immediate resignation or return of President Buhari who has been in the UK for 92 days.
Maverick singer and social crusader, Charles Oputa (aka Charly boy), who has been the major leader in the protest against president Muhammadu Buhari’s long stay in London was yesterday attacked by a policeman with the butt of the gun which resulted in his slump.
It was gathered that during the acclaimed peaceful protest, the police, who unleashed over 30 dogs on the protesters, attacked Charly boy and seven others.
Narrating his ordeal to newsmen, Charly boy said: “the rally was peaceful and it was meant to be a sit-out at the unity fountain in Abuja, but suddenly we saw a battalion of policemen who refused to allow us to sit at the park, so we had to move to the opposite park.”
