The Minister Of Defence Brigadier General Mansir Dan Ali has assured The University of Maiduguri Community of additional protection from attacks from Boko Haram.
The Minister stated this when he paid a condolence visit to the University on Monday.
Brigadier General Mansur Dan Ali disclosed that the
Nigerian Army will give special training to Nigerian Security and Civil Defence officers and police to deal with Civil disturbance as the Military forge ahead to crush remnants of Boko Haram.
Responding, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, Professor Abubakar Njodi represented by Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Haruna Godowoli said the University Community appreciated the support of the Army.
He said the school has remained open since the inception of Boko Haram despite several attacks on villages surrounding the University over the years.

Partnership with relevant stakeholders to end the madness of Boko Haram,” he said.
Recall that last month, Boko Haram insurgents attacked Staff of the University, NNPC, Nigerian Army and some members of Civilian Joint Task Force leading to killings and abduction during an oil exploration mission.
