Women and Children’s Right And Empowerment Foundation in collaboration with Baobab For Women Human Rights has donated food and non food items to orphans currently schooling in Future Prowess Islamic Foundation and some widows in Borno State.
According to the Coordinator of Baobab For Women Human Rights, Professor Hauwa Abdu Biu, the two Organisations come up with the idea to help the Orphans who lost their parents as a result of Boko Haram crisis in the North East.
” Some of these Children are unaccompanied Children, some lost their parents at tender age, we can not fold our arms as mothers to see them suffering ”
” I stand here to represent Hajiya Maryam Buba Marwa and few others who collectively send these items for you to enjoy Sallah fiesta like every child “she explained.
The Gender Activist cum Educationist took her time to briefly address the widows as well.
“Let me advice you my daughters, please take what happened to you as destined by God and by Hos grace, your sorrows will be over ”
Professor Hauwa Abdu Biu reaffirmed the Commitments of both NGOs towards alleviating their hardships.
” This is just the beginning, we will be coming from time to time to support you God willing.”
She also applauded the intervention of Government towards addressing challenges of IDPs in Borno and called on Governor Kashim Shetima to maintain the tempo.
Similarly on his part, Doctor Musa Liman advised Government and Non Governmental Organisations to come to the aid of the orphans.
He commended the management of Future Prowess Islamic Foundation for training children whose parents were killed by insurgents in the North east.
At least each of the 74 orphans got sets of clothes and each widow went home with Rice, Spaghetti and soap.
