Three billion Naira has been expended for the enhancement of schools in the North east amid insurgency challenges in the region.
The Executive Secretary of UBEC, Dr Hameed Bobboyi , said the Minister of education, Adamu Adamu gave the approval of the fund to rehabilitate schools directly affected by Insurgency.and to also provide support to women and adolescents in the areas of

vocational and skills acquisition.
He said that a major area which has suffered adverse effect of Boko haram activities is the Basic Education sector.
Bobboyi stated that UBEC’s intervention will tremendously help in the Northeast.
“Our intervention has to come with re-establishment of teaching and learning process, pupils and students have to be re-convinced to return back to school,” the Executive Secretary stated.
Bobboyi said UBEC has agreed to build Model schools in each Senatorial zones adding that in the next five years, the commission would have built model schools in the 774 Local government areas in Nigeria.
