President Muhammadu Buhari received a standing ovation from members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at the presidential villa, Abuja when he arrived at the meeting early to get down to the business of the day.
According to reporters, only a handful of council members were already in the hall for the meeting slated for 10.00 am at the time the president arrived at 9:50am.
President Buhari noted the absence of most of the council members immediately he stepped into the hall. He asked members in attendance to recite the National Anthem. As of the time the meeting started, only about 19 out of the 36 ministers were in attendance.

Those in attendance include Winifred Oyo-Ita, the Head of Service (HOS) of the Federation and Babachir Lawal, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
Many of them were seen checking their time and rushing into the chamber when they discovered that the meeting had started. Some other ministers however arrived after the 10 am scheduled to take off time.
