With the victory, Nigeria tops group B with nine points, while Cameroon has just two points from three matches.
Meanwhile, coach Gernot Rohr has said that the nonavailability of five players in the squad that lost 2-0 to South Africa in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday, June 10 caused the national team defeat.

Speaking to newsmen after Nigeria’s come back 4-0 win over Cameroon, Rohr said “we had five players who didn’t play against South Africa, so we had more maturity. (in the game against). I think it is better we have a good mixture between young and experienced players as we scored wonderful goals today.”
