Dallatu of Fika burried amid tears

Yobe State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Geidam, his deputy Eng. Abubakar D Ali, Secretary to Yobe state government, Baba Mallam Wali, Head of Service, Alhaji Sale Abubakar, Emirs, members, House of Assembly, Commissioners and other dignitaries were among the thousands of people who attended the funeral prayers of the late Dallatu of Fika.
The funeral was attended by several thousands of Pataskum residents and beyond.
Potiskum stood still to honor a leader that was revered by all, as shop owners closed their businesses to attend the burial.
They all trooped out to pay their last respect to the revered community leader.
Alhaji Idrissa Madaki died on Tuesday 19th September 2017 at the age of 88 after a brief illness. He is survived by his two wives, 22 children, and 105 grandchildren.
According to Alhaji Musa Abbas who attended the funeral prayers, Madaki touched the lives of many people not just in Pataskum area but across the state and he prayed almighty Allah (SWA) to grant the deceased Aljannatul Firdaus (Heaven) and his family and Fika emirate the fortitude to bear the loss.
Mallam Ahmad G Ahmad who lives near the house of late Madaki said that he inculcated “valuable qualities in all of us, either as his children and other people of the state. He was always there for us. Very simple, charismatic respectful and most importantly firm and patriotic. He was a father to all, he accommodated every opinion. May he rest in peace.”
