In his attempt to scare opponents and critics, Kaduna state Governor Nasir el-Rufai has made it public that he could kill anybody that crosses his way as he killed former Nigeria’s President, late Umar Musa Yar’adua.
Addressing a gathering of APC members at a party stakeholders meeting in Kaduna recently, the governor arrogantly assured whosoever is thinking of crossing his way that he could kill him.
He made it clear that he dealt with two former presidents that crossed his way, killing one and forcing the other to remain in his village thereby displaying some possible cultist strength.
el-Rufai in his speech, where he proudly declared that he is not afraid of anybody, not excluding God Almighty, stated in Hausa language that “Two former presidents have dragged with me and I finished them. When Yar’adua dragged with me he ended in his grave and when Jonathan dragged with me he ended in Otuoke”.
This declaration by Governor el-Rufai has raised a lot of tension with some politicians calling on the Federal Government to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of late Umaru Musa Yar’adua.
Senator Shehu Sani, representing the Central Senatorial Zone in Kaduna, who is also of the APC, who once declared that el-Rufai is after his life, called on the Nigerian government to investigate the death of former President Umar Musa Yar’adua.
In his response, a PDP stalwart in Kaduna, Hon. Ibrahim Bayero, condemned the declaration by el-Rufai as senseless bragging, explaining that he wasn’t even in Nigeria when Yar’adua led the country, adding that el-Rufai is never heroic as even Aisha Alhassan (Mama Taraba) is more courageous and strong-hearted than he can ever be.
In Katsina, the home state of the late president, special prayers were conducted seeking God Almighty’s intervention on the matter, asking Him to reveal all those involved in the death of their kinsman.
Meanwhile members of the public have continued expressing displeasure with the public display of ruthlessness and undue arrogance and ego-centrism by the state governor.
