PCNI committed to revamping health care system in Borno State- Tumsah

The Vice Chairman of the Presidential Committee on North East Initiative,  Tijjani M Tumsah has reiterated the commitment of the PCNI in conjunction with other MDAs and donors to refurbish all Primary Health Care institutions, Secondary and Tertiary healthcare facilities in Borno State and the North East region to improve healthcare delivery.
He said this when he received the Governor of Borno State, Gov. Kashim Shettima, on Monday in Abuja.
The Governor’s visit was in continuation of the strategic alliance between the Federal and State governments in tackling the humanitarian crisis in the North East.
Gov. Shettima used the occasion to highlight the need for the Coordination agency to also standardize secondary healthcare institutions in the State to make health care more accessible in the post-insurgency phase. He further singled out the need of the total refurbishment and equipping of the Bama General Hospital to a standard healthcare facility to cater to the inhabitants of Bama town and outlying communities.

PCNI’s boss also reiterated their commitment to tackling Hepatitis E and Cholera outbreaks in the state which have been brought under control and mitigating the mortality rates.
Present at the meeting were members of the National Assembly; Hon. Mamman Nur Sheriff, Member representing Bama, Ngala & Kala Balge at the House of Representatives and Senator Baba Kaka Bashir Garbai, Senator representing Borno Central amongst others.
