Eight Soldiers reportedly killed in Yobe by Boko Haram in attack on Sasawa town

Eight soldiers have been reportedly killed after Boko Haram militants launched attack on a military base in Sasawa town about 27 kilometres away from Damaturu, the Yobe state capital.
The spokesman of 3 Div. Nigerian Army ,Col Kayode Ogunsanya confirmed the attack but could not give details of the casualty figure.
”The Insurgents overran the military base having come with seven gun trucks, took the soldiers by suprise,” he said.
Sasawa town is one of the communities that was under control of the insurgents before it was liberated by the military, and has an established military base there.
”There was casualty on both sides of the army and the insurgents,” Ogunsanya added.
A resident of Sasawa town, Malam Modu Mustapha, told Neptune Prime that the insurgents attacked and killed many soldiers and civilians in the town ,adding that many security forces have been killed ,because the insurgents laid siege for a long time.
