The speaker Yobe state House of Assembly, Honourable Adamu Dala Dogo, has said the history of Yobe State House of Assembly when written can never be complete if the contributions made by the outgoing clerk of the house, Mohammed Nur Alkali are not mentioned.
The clerk, who served the Yobe State House of Assembly from 1999, was recently appointed by the governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam, as his new Chief of Staff.
Speaking on the contributions of Nur Alkali to the house, Honourable Dogo added that the outgoing clerk has demonstrated patience and tolerance in the discharge of his duties in the house and has laid examples worthy of emulation.
Also speaking, the Acting Clerk of the house, Alhaji Mohammed Madaki, said since 1999, the outgoing clerk has devoted his time and expertise to the success and development of the house, adding that, he was responsible for laying the foundation upon which the house is standing today and would always be remembered whenever the success story of the house is being written.
He also assured members of the house that he will continue to follow in the steps of the outgoing clerk to ensure that, the successes so far achieved are sustained.
In his response, the new Chief of Staff  to the governor, in an emotion ladened speech said ”for the first time in nearly 27 years of working with the legislature, I am being honored and treated to a special session as an outsider from the legislature. I feel particularly sentimental and emotional to realize that I am within the chambers of the House in person occupying a seat other than that of the clerk.
”I consider myself strategically placed to provide the much needed cooperation required to cement and solidify the bond of collaborative and consultative synergy that has characterised the executive and legislative relationship in the state,” he added.
