After much delay, House of Reps Speaker swears in Dorathy Mato
Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has administered the oath of office to Hon. (Mrs.) Dorothy Mato, to replace RT. Hon. Herman Hembe, representing Konshisha/Vandeikya federal constituency in Benue State.
Hembe, a former Chairman, House Committee on Federal Capital Territory, was removed from his seat by the Supreme Court in a unanimous judgment in June 2017.
The apex court in its judgment halso ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue a fCertificate of Return to Mato.
The Supreme court ordered Hembe to refund the cumulative salaries and allowances paid him for the past two (2) years to the government’s coffers.
The court said in its judgment that Mato was the rightly elected candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to represent Konshisha Federal Constituency in Benue State.
