Yobe State government has embarked on the renovation of students’ hostel at the College of Administrative and Business Studies, CABS, Potiskum in Yobe State.
In an interview with Neptune Prime on 10th August, when the Rector was away to Saudi Arabia for Hajj, the Acting Rector, Alhaji Ibrahim Bomai Zarma said, the hostel under renovation contained about 114 rooms, hoping that when completed will reduce the accommodation problem due to the increasing number of students in the Institution.
Zarma further said, the renovation being carried out would not have been possible with the few revenue being generated by the institution without the assistance of the state government. He said, aside the hostel, the College Lecture Theater is also under construction.
Speaking on the number of classrooms in the College, he said, the institution has no need of classroom at the moment as the ones they have are enough to accommodate the number of students in the institution.
He said some part of the administrative block which was also destroyed by the activities of Boko Haram has received positive signal from government as submission made to the effect is being given all the attention needed, adding that during the visit of the commissioner of Education was encouraging that despite the economic crises in the country, government is ready to sink the little resources available to it to ensure that the institution gets all it is needed for smooth running.
Alhaji Zarma then commended the effort of the commissioner of Education, Alhaji Mohammed Lamin for showing his concern to the institution.
