Some People’s Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders under the aegis of Stronger North East for a Greater Nigeria (SNEFAGN), have called on former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Wazirin Adamawa, to return to the party “because it is the only platform he can use to actualize his dream of taking Nigeria out of the woods”.
In a communiqué released at the end of their meeting held in Maiduguri, yesterday, the group lamented that the fortunes of the PDP nose-dived the minute the former VP led a group of unsatisfied party stalwarts, including serving Governors and members of the National Assembly, out of the convention ground ‘on that sad day in 2014’.
The meeting of the SNEFAGN, chaired by Ambassador Umar El-Gash had in attendance Honourable Gambo Musa , Abubakar Mohammed and Comrade Kolo Mustapha, among others, called on the Waziri to consider that he was a founding member of the PDP and rhetorically asked “how can a man who built a house have peace of mind in someone else’s house while his goes to ruin?”
The group claimed that had promises been upheld and Atiku became the party’s candidate in the 2015 election, the party would not have lost and Nigeria would have been better than it is now.
The reason, according to the SNEFAGN is that Atiku, among all those who have been contesting for Nigeria’s presidency, is the most prepared, with clear vision of how to make the country great.
The group then called on the PDP National Caretaker Committee and the North East Reconciliatory Committee to do all they can to prevail on Atiku to return to the party in the interest of Nigeria.
