The senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, was reportedly kidnapped by unknown gunmen according to a twitter post by senator Ben Bruce (PDP Bayelsa East).
Melaye was one of the senators who recently decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the All Progressives Congress (APC) following sharp disagreement with his political party.
Bruce who broke the news of the abduction via his twitter page wrote; “I have just been informed by Moses Melaye, @dino_melaye’s brother, that Dino has been abducted by unknown persons in a Toyota Sienna that blocked their car and overpowered them on their way to Kogi to answer to Dino’s court case. Lets be on the watch out. Will keep you updated.”
Sequel to his abduction, Melaye was being tried on twin charges of attempted escape from lawful custody and suicide by an Abuja High Court Apo.
