In an apparent bid to perfect his movement to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), senate minority leader, Godswill Akpabio, has avoided the all important National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of his party and met with vice president Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday.
Reports indicated that Akpabio arrived the state house villa in company of senator Ita Enang at about 3.06pm and were immediately ushered into the vice president’s lobby at the state House Villa.
Meeting between Osinbajo and Akpabio reportedly lasted till around 5:20pm while the opposition party was conducting its NEC meeting.
Reports also indicated that Akpabio is considering dumping the opposition party as a result of a long standing rift with governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom.
