Students of college of education Ilorin, kwara state, have on Monday, clashed with policemen over lecturer’s 6 months unpaid salaries.
The protesting students were intercepted by policemen on their way to government house Kwara, where they intended to lodge their complaints to the state government, before anti-riot policemen blocked them at the unity roundabout, leading to skirmishes which disturbed the peace of the area.
The protesting students said, the failure of the state government to upset the lecturer’s outstanding salary is on the verge of undermining their educational progress as the lecturer’s refused to conduct the semester examination due to the anomaly.
Effort to speak with the public relations officer of the Kwara state police command,  Mr. Okasanmi Ajayi over the issue was not successful as he said he was in a meeting and therefore, could not speak to newsmen.
