On behalf of the entire members of Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN), I Honourable Khalil Mohd Bello the Nat president of the Association, wish to commend the Federal Government of Nigeria, under the good leadership of H E President Muhammadu Buhari and his able Vice President, His Excellency Prof Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, for their well deserved initiative of providing Commercial pasture and boreholes for the benefits of Nigerian’s Pastoralists.
We of Kulen Allah, haven been the direct beneficiaries of these laudable project which is currently going on under the excellent leadership of the office of the V P, through the Ministry of Agriculture and rural development, Department of Animal husbandry Services fully considered this program as a right move to a right direction.
We believed that, this program if carefully implemented in the most of the Nigerian’s grazing reserves, couple with re demarcation of most of the narrowed or completely blocked Cattle routes it will greatly reduce if not completely bring to an end the wanton and very painful intermittent Nation’s destructive perennial conflicts between Cattle rearers and Farmers.
It will also assist in complimenting the Federal Government efforts to bring peace and unity amongst the Nigerian’s.
This highly appreciable Government plans will also help in the development of livestock production in Nigeria and beyond. As well as helping towards providing nutritional food to Nigerian’s and our good neighbours.
The programs under reference will end the unnecessary movement of Herders from one place to another in search of water and posture for their livestock which normally results in squabbles or conflicts between Pastoralists and Farmers.
At the same time, we want to assure the Federal Government and the entire people of Nigeria that if these projects are curried out successfully they would greatly enhance the Nigerian’s economy.
The projects would also serve as a means for job creations to thousands or millions Nigerians who would resort to livestock production as a lawful profession to earn their lively hood as it was before during the golden days when Northern Government was adequately taken care of livestock subsector of the Nigerian’s economy.
We also want highly commend the Hon Minister of Agriculture Mr Audu Ogbeh, his Permanent Secretary, Dr Abdulkadir Mu’azu and the entire Staff of the Department of Animal Husbandry services who are working hard towards the development of livestock industry in Nigeria and implementing Government’s policies.
Finally we once again call on the Federal Government to kindly pay more attention in providing sufficient budgetary allocation to support arable and livestock Farmers.
