The business community and residents of the town closed their shops to attend the APC governorship rally in support of the APC candidates.

Chairman of Yobe Traders Association, Alhaji  Adamu Talio said they joined the APC campaign train to ensure its success in the forthcoming polls.

Alhaji Maimala Buni, the Yobe state All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, has assured to replicate the federal government’s  agricultural program to exploit the abundant wetlands in the state  to promote irrigation for food security and economic empowerment.

He said the success of the farmer anchor borrower program will be implemented in the state to facilitate self reliance and economic growth..

“We will ensure that youth are fully engaged and economically empowered to exploit their potentials.

“It is going to be an administration for the youth of the state, you will also enjoy appointments to serve the state diligently in various capacities” Buni assured.

The governorship hopeful also pledged to consolidate the achievements of the Ibrahim Gaidam administration.

“We will consolidate and expand the records achieved in healthcare delivery, road construction, education, agriculture and housing among others” he assured.

Buni urged the people to vote APC candidates for the presidential, governorship, national and state assembly candidates for a harmonious working relationship between executive and legislative arms in the next dispensation.

Some members of PDP formally defected from the party to APC with a pledge to work for the success of APC in the general elections.
