In a society where there are born- philanthropists, who care more about humanity, such society can never lack or regret. Ideally, this world celebrates only those who set legacies of serving humanity, not only those who accumulate wealth. It’s obvious that the credit is given to whom credit is due. In the history of Yobe State, people like Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai can never be forgotten due to his love to humanity.
Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Bomoi was born on 10th February, 1960 in the city of Maiduguri. He completed his elementary school in Shehu Garba Primary School in 1972 in the same city. In 1977, he obtained his West African School Certificate from Government College Maiduguri. In quest for knowledge, he proceeded to Kaduna Polytechnic where he obtained a National Diploma and High National Diploma in Accountancy on 1982 and actively participated in his mandatory one year service in 1983. He later obtained his Masters of Business Administration from the historic Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi in 1997.
He started his Civil service career with the then Borno State Agricultural Development Programme (BOADAP) as the finance officer on 1984, and later held the position of senior accountant in the Ramat Polytechnic Maiduguri on 1986. His wealth of experiences are worthy to mention as he held several positions including Assistant Chief Accountant and Acting Bursar and substantive Bursar in Federal College of Education Technical, Potiskum, the Accountant General of Area Council Federal Ministry of Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and Auditor General of Area Council respectively.
Meanwhile, the hardworking Bomai attended the London School of Management and was later appointed as Director of Treasury, Federal Capital Territory Abuja between 2008-2006. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria and Chartered Institute of Corporate Administrators of Nigeria. The well-trained mind is also a recipient of different national honors and merit Award such Productivity Merit Award, Distinguish Meritorious Award, and Outstanding Prowess of Administrative Matters Award.
Objectively, the proven technocrat has sponsored over one hundred Youths on their undergraduate to study here in Nigeria and outside the country. To put smiles on their faces, he has also gotten more than thirty appointments to people of his constituency. His humanity extends to the construction of boreholes in some communities for them to have access to potable drinking water.
Obviously, Bomai, popularly known as Mai-Shinkafa because of his generous distribution of rice to indigents during the month of Ramadan, has for long been tirelessly distributing foodstuff to his community (Potiskum) and other neighboring communities. His kindness and humaneness are worthy of celebrating and appreciation.
Similarly, the intellectual technocrat has now made his mind to represent the people of Yobe State South Senatorial District and his aspiration comes at a high time when people need heroes like him so that they can enjoy the dividend of democracy. May he win to deliver what his constituents deserved.
Conclusively, the heroic personality has now changes the narrative of politics in Yobe State, as he encourages active participation of both ages such as the Youths and elderly ones and yet includes both sexes in his political movement irrespective of their ethnic backgrounds. His achievements are worth celebrating and encouraging too. Let’s massively vote for credibility and integrity. Let’s join hands together to create a stable society where peace and justice will reign in our political representations so that our younger ones will enjoy good National representation. We can only achieve that when we make a wise vote in the forth coming Presidential/National Assemblies’ election next week. It is high time now to decide who will deliver good representation for the next four years. Let’s do it together.
