The unofficial result compiled by our reporter.

After results from the 17 local government areas of Yobe have been collated, APC’s Gubernatorial candidate, Honourable Mai Mala Buni has polled 442,335 votes while PDP’s Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum has 91,892, leaving Damagum with the impossible mission of surmounting a gap of 350,523 votes with just one ward of the state’s 178 wards yet to be known.

Neptune Prime reports that the PDP candidate also lost Fune, his local government where he polled 14,327 while the APC candidate polled 36,040 votes. Another local government that PDP tried, bagging its only House of Assembly seat out of 23 is Nguru where it polled 16,572 votes to the PDP’s 28,366.

In Gujba, the APC candidate’s local government, APC polled 17,734 votes leaving the PDP candidate with a sorry consolation votes of 1,119.

Perhaps as a result of a little poor voter turnout which was witnessed nationwide, the result (minus one ward) shows that while the APC polled 497,914 votes in the presidential election, it polled 442,335 in governorship.
