The governing council of the Federal University, Gashua has issued a statement debunking a “fake” press release dated 20th of June 2019, making the rounds in the social media to the effect that an Acting Vice Chancellor has been appointed for the institution.
The disclaimer, obtained by Neptune Prime, signed by AB Shehu, Acting Registrar/Secretary to the Council pronounced the information in the trending document as “unfounded, baseless, mischievous, malicious and concocted to breed disharmony between members of the management of the University”.
The earlier document was also purportedly issued by him without his signature.
