From AHMAD SAKA, Bauchi
The Chairman of an Abuja based Organization, Lautech Solutions Limited, Alhaji Hussain Bokane has donated hospital equipment worth over 250 million naira to the Bauchi state Government.
Alhaji Hussaini told Bauchi State Government officials yesterday in Abuja that the gesture is to compliment the efforts of the state governor at ensuring effective provision of healthcare services to the people of the state.
He observed that most of the public hospitals in Nigeria lack the needed equipment for their services and therefore he made the donation to assist Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed to address some of the challenges facing the state health sector.
The chairman said the organization has embarked on supporting state governors to improve the standard of health in their respective states for the well being of their people.
He appealed for judicious utilization of the donated equipment and applauded a close political ally to the Governor in the state, Alhaji Sanin Malam for facilitating the donation.
The leader of the delegation, Alhaji Sanin Malam recalled that the organization had contributed immensely in supporting the state government through donations of various hospital commodities.
Alhaji Sanin Malam, who described the gesture as a welcome development, appealed to the state governor to consider the organization as partners in progress.
On his part, the permanent secretary, state ministry of health, Dr Yahaya Yarima, said the donated equipment would assist in addressing shortage of facilities in hospitals across the state.
He said he has spent over thirty years working in various government hospitals but this is the first time he is seeing this kind of gesture from an individual.
The permanent secretary therefore enjoined well to do individuals and corporate bodies to join hands in improving the healthcare status of Nigerians for a better society.
