The Yobe State Governor, His Excellency Mai Mala Buni, after being briefed about an accident in Damaturu yesterday in which a KEKE NAPEP rider with passengers were crushed by a military vehicle, has sent his condolences to the families of the two that lost their lives while directing the acting Secretary to the State Government to conduct an investigation to ascertain circumstances surrounding the accident.

One of the victims, Hussaina Baffa Bello, was a pre-ND student of the Federal polytechnic Damaturu while the other fatality was a toddler.

Sources around Gwange Junction of Damaturu, where the accident happened, attributed it to reckless driving by the over speeding army driver who failed to control his car when the traffic light turned red.

The governor has also directed the State Ministry of Health and the Hospitals Management Board to ensure that those who sustained injuries are given access to free medical care.

Already, the Brigade Commander 27 Task Force Brigade, the Commanding Officer 233 Tank Battalion and officials of the State Government have visited and commiserated with the families of the victims.
