AY announces plans to film ‘30 Days in China’ with Huawen Movie group

Popular comedian, actor, and film producer, Ayo Makun has sealed a deal with the Huawen Movie group in China to collaborate on the making of his next project, ‘30 Days in China’.

The deal, championed by AY, will be the first major film collaboration between the Chinese film industry and Nollywood

AY who was recently in China revealed on his Instagram page that he had a meeting with the executives of Huawen Movie group, an arm of the Huahua Media to discuss the project.

Moses Babatope, the co-founder of FilmOne Entertainment, said the Chinese collaboration will open up Nollywood to Chinese cinema audiences and enable them to create better quality movies.

“We will be exposed to a lucrative and moving Chinese film market. It’s like skipping many hurdles and getting access to an existing mature market,” Babatope said.

Kefei Wang, President of Huahua Media said investing in Nollywood was of “major importance” to his company as well as working with the abundance of talent and the possibility of creating masterpieces with collaborations.

AY’s first entry into Nollywood was with the production of ‘30 Days in Atlanta’. The production was shot in collaboration with the Atlanta government and was a blockbuster that paved the way for Nigerian comic films in cinemas.

‘30 Days in China’ joins Makun’s comedy franchise, which includes ’30 days in Atlanta’ and ’10 days in Sun City,’ where he films adventures in new countries.
