A Bolt (formerly Taxify) driver has been accused of throwing a female passenger out of his moving car because she said she had no cash and wanted to pay for the trip by doing an online transfer.

The victim’s friend shared the story on Twitter alongside photos of the horrific injuries inflicted on the passenger.

She started the narration by telling the company to start checking the mental balance of their drivers.

“One of your drivers battered my friend Dorcas last night. She requested for a ride at about 10 pm from Wuse 2 to her house in Fynestone Estate in Gwarimpa. They got home in good time and the trip was N1,200.

“She asked the driver to give her his account number so she could make a transfer but the driver refused to accept saying he had been duped once.

“She begged that she would wait for him to get the alert but he declined even after he knew he had just brought her to her house and can always get his money.

“He said the only option was to take her back to where he carried her from. She entered the vehicle and followed him.

The Twitter post.

“On their way, he forcefully pushed her out of the car while he was on high speed and sped off. An elderly man who saw what happened ran to help. He called her sister on phone and she was taken to the hospital.

“She suffered bruises on her skin, especially her back and elbows which peeled off when she rolled along the rough road after being thrown out of the moving car. Her new iPhone was also destroyed as a result of the fall.

“The driver, however, called back to apologize and they told him to come to the hospital. When he came, he was asked to pay for the hospital bill and of course buy the iPhone X max which was damaged.

“They took his license so he doesn’t escape. he then pleaded that he would be back, made a deposit of N4,000 but never returned.”

She further narrated that the case was reported to the police and to the Bolt’s (Taxify) office but they didn’t get a positive reply.

She said, “The police have failed us again simply because she is a defenceless girl. The Taxify office couldn’t be of help too even though she went to report at their office. They said there is nothing they can do as the case is between her and the driver”.
