The Jigawa state government has approved the construction and maintenance work for existing structures as well as the procurement of instructional materials for schools across the state worth N881, 393,364.84.
The state Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports and Culture, Col. Muhd Alhassan (Rtd) disclosed this shortly after the state executive council meeting, presided over by Governor Muhammed Badaru Abubakar.
Alhassan said the council considered and approved the construction of 43 Islamiyya classroom blocks across the state at the total sum of N144, 044, 328.57 to various contractors.
He said the projects, when completed, will reduce congestion in the schools, boost enrolment and enhance the conducive environment for teaching and learning in all the affected schools.
