Nigeria Professional Football League side, Nasarawa United coach, Bala Nkiyu, has stepped aside from leading the team until his contract is renewed.
Bala, who led the Solid Miners to emerge champions in the 2019 Alhan Pre-season tournament has failed to consolidate on the feat in the 2019/20 NPFL season as Nasarawa United are currently at the bottom of the league.
A source close to the team revealed that Bala’s contract has not been renewed since its expiration at the end of last season. Also, players signed since the beginning of this season have not received a kobo from the club.
The source added that the former Nigeria Women U17 national team coach did not have any contract with the team since the former expired at the end of last season adding that he will participate in neither the training nor lead the team to match venue until his contract is renewed.
All efforts to reach coach Bala Nkiyu proved abortive as his phone number was not reachable.
Nasarawa United are at the bottom of the 2019/20 NPFL table with two points from five matches.
