Buhari sacks Muiz Banire, appoints Adamu as AMCON Chairman

President Muhammadu Buhari has removed the Chairman of the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), Muiz Banire.

The termination of Banire’s appointment was contained in a letter written to the Senate President by President Buhari.

The letter dated 9th December read,” In accordance with the Section 10(1) of the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria, I hereby present Edward Lametek Adamu for confirmation as the new Chairman of the Assets Management Company of Nigeria by the Distinguished Senate.

” While hoping that this request will receive the usual expeditious consideration of the Senate, please accept, Distinguished Senate President, the assurances of my highest consideration.”

Buhari appointed Banire as AMCON Chairman on the 18th of July 2018.
