Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, alongside captains and coaches of the club’s football and basketball teams, gave a small speech in which he wished Los Blancos fans a happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
Zinedine Zidane and Pablo Laso, and captains Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Felipe Reyes, and Sergio Llull, were present as Perez spread his festive words.
“As we all know, Real Madrid is a universal feeling that unites millions of people around the world.
“To our members and fans, I wish you all happy holidays in the company of your families and loved ones,” he stated.
“For this new year, I ask for health, work and happiness for all. We want the year 2020 to be a year of success and titles for our football and basketball teams,” Perez added.
Zinedine Zidane offered a similar speech in which he promised the fans that he and his side would do their best to make them proud.
“We want to continue with our positive dynamic and with the results that are allowing us to stay alive in all the competitions we are competing in.
“I am not going to ask for anything more because we are all very connected to what we are doing and that is the most important thing for a coach.”
Sergio Ramos was also positive in his message of hope for the coming year.
“We wish for 2020 to bring many successes on a professional level for the whole team and that we avoid injuries.
“Also being alive in three competitions, we would like to arrive at the end of the season having done well in the league and a good campaign in both the Champions League and the Copa del Rey.”
Marcelo, who has been ravaged by injuries this campaign, made a point of the importance of good health.
“For the new year, I hope for health, because it is impossible to achieve anything without it.
“Also, [I hope for] lots of success, joy and good things.
“On a personal level, lots of health and that we don’t have injuries.
“That we are happy and that we enjoy life as much as we can, particularly on the field, which is the nicest way.”
