Gombe unveils road construction programme

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has reiterated his administration’s resolve to construct at least 100 kilometers of the road network in each of the 11 local government areas, under an initiative tagged  “Network Eleven-Hundred”.

Governor Yahaya, while flagging off the 15km Mararraban-Jabba – Sambo Daji- Pandi Kola- Gwarar- Garin Wada Road in Pindiga Emirate of Akko Local Government Area, said the initiative was to open up rural communities, boost economic activities and facilitate easy access to locations across the state.

He said his government would give priority to indigenous contractors to empower the people economically. The Mararraban Jabba Road project, awarded for N2.3bn, is expected to link up about ten communities.

The governor also inspected the ongoing construction of the 18.79km Gona- Garko- Kalshingi Road in Akko Local Government Area.
