Borno Governor, Babagana Zulum has lamented on the increasing attacks by Boko Haram on communities in the northern part of the state.

Governor Zulum in a statement signed by his spokesman, Isa Gusau on Thursday 18, December 2019 in Maiduguri, said that the attacks on communities of Askira Uba Local Government, in the southern part of Borno were worrisome.

The Governor was reacting to Boko Haram attacks on six communities of Chul, Rumingo, Lassa, Musa, Kufa, and Gwandam in Askira Uba Local Government.

“The Governor shares the pains with victims of these attacks and assured them of his administration’s continued effort in trying to address the security problem”.

He said the government was worried about the recent attacks by Boko Haram in the communities.

In this light, Gusau said that the Governor has since directed all local government authorities to regularly work with all security stakeholders in their respective councils for consistency review of security challenges and deployment of necessary but lawful measures to safeguard lives and property, which is the most important duty of the government.

He further said that in addition to taking measures at the state level, Governor Zulum will always accord authorities at the local government levels all the necessary support they require, particularly on the security of citizens.
