Gunmen attacks football match in Kaduna, kills 4

Some unidentified gunmen laid siege at a football match played on Sunday evening in Zunuruk village of Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State and killed four spectators while four others were injured.

It was gathered that the attackers shot sporadically at the crowd of spectators. while a football match was being played.

An eyewitness, who pleaded anonymity, said the attackers came from a nearby bush and shot sporadically at the unsuspecting spectators, killing four on the spot.

“The development brought the football match to an end as the spectators ran for their lives,” he said.

The witness further said residents of Tsonje village woke up early Monday morning in a nearby Tsonje village to discover the dead body of one of the residents of the area who died of gunshots.

He said the victim identified as Dogara Kazzah was said to have gone to ease himself in the bush the previous night around 8 pm but never returned, only to be discovered dead as a result of gunshots received from unidentified gunmen while in the bush.

The Kaduna Police Public Relations Officer, Yakubu Sabo could not pick his calls, while a text message sent to him was not replied.
