Former Bauchi State Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar has rejected the hands of fellowship offered to him by Bala Mohammed, the incumbent Governor of the state and has vowed to pursue his case to the Supreme court.
Bala Mohammed reacting to the verdict of the Court of Appeal that upheld his victory on Friday 29, 2019 called on his predecessor to join him in rebuilding Bauchi State.
The opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Former Governor have turned down the offer, saying they will redress at the apex court.
State chairman of the Party Uba Nana made the revelation during a stakeholders’ meeting held at their Party Secretariat in Bauchi.
“The judgment has been passed yesterday, we have received it. We are studying it and we are taking the next line of action.
“So, we will be heading to the supreme court. “The case will terminate at the supreme court by the special grace of God”, he said.
Uba Nana who said the stakeholders’ meeting was intended to rub minds on the outcome of the Appeal Court’s judgment says the party will consolidate its folds and move ahead despite the setback.
“It is a normal meeting that from time to time, we used to have to meet one another and look at the ways and means of strengthening the APC in Bauchi state.
“It is just to strengthen our movement and keep in touch with our teeming supporters. “We cannot afford to lose contact with our teeming supporters”, he stated.
Audu Sule Katagum, the immediate deputy governor of the state who was also in attendance during the meeting said the APC is still strong and formidable in the state, adding that majority of members of the state Assembly, House of Representatives and all the three senators are members of the party.
