Minimum Wage: Gov Inuwa constitutes negotiation committee

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state has approved the constitution of a 15- man committee to negotiate the N30,000 minimum wage and the consequential adjustments.

This was contained in a statement signed by Ismaila Misilli Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Media and Publicity and made available to newsmen in Gombe.

He said the state Deputy Governor,  Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau is to serve as chairman of the negotiation committee.

“A memo issued by the state Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Bappayo Yahaya, indicates that the committee is mandated to look into the possibility of implementation of the N30,000  Minimum Wage as it affects the Core Civil Servants and others in the state.

“It is also to determine the consequential adjustments for Core Civil Servants on GL. 07-17 and others” he said.

He added that the committee is given the mandate to co-opt any persons deemed suitable for the successful conduct of the committee’s assignment end.
