Bauchi govt discovers unused skills acquisition materials bought 38 years ago by late Tatari Ali

Bauchi State Governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has discovered not use valuable skills acquisition materials by 12 past administrations bought by late first civilian Governor of the State Alhaji AbubakarTatari Ali 38 years ago.

Late Tatari ruled the State between 1979 and 1983. After him, nine soldiers and three civilian governors ruled the state before the coming of the present administration.

The State Commissioner, Ministry of Poverty Alleviation, Alhaji Usman Mohammed Saleh, disclosed this while speaking with newsmen yesterday in Bauchi. He said the materials were kept in six emirates: Bauchi, Katagum, Misau, Jamaare, Ningi, and Dass.

Usman said the types of equipment if put into use, will create job opportunities for hundreds of unemployed youths. He also disclosed that the types of equipment are in good condition and the government intends to build six centers in the six emirates where the equipment are kept and put them to use for the benefit of youths.

The commissioner said the skills acquisition materials found will help the youths to learn various trade and to become self-reliant.

He said government earmarked over one billion Naira in the 2020 budget to reduce the problems of unemployment by creating many job opportunities to youths, women to reduce poverty.

Usman said 200m naira will be given to the Association of motorcycles and tricycles to purchase the motorcycles and tricycles and distributed to their members as soft loans, 60m naira earmarked for people washing cars and vulcanizes to buy modern equipment that will make their businesses easier across the 20 local government areas of the state.

Commissioner said government earmarked 200m naira to give soft loans to rural Women and carpenters as part of the effort to encourage businesses in the state to reduce poverty.

He appeals to the people of the state to support the government with prayers in order to get more money to enable the state to execute all the projects earmarked in the 2020 budget.
