Court charges FG to pay N200,000 to Sowore, Bakare

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Wednesday, charged the Federal Government to pay the sum of Two Hundred Thousand Naira (200,000) to Omoloye Sowore for causing the adjournment of his trial.

Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu who expressed disappointment over FG’s call for adjournment describing the action as frivolous postponed the case to on 14 Thursday 2020.

She warned that the proceedings would not continue if the prosecution fails to present evidence of the payment of the N200,000 to the defence or come to court with the cash on Thursday.

She condemned the late filing of amended charges by the Federal Government against Sowore and his co-defendant Olawole Bakare, and service of the same on the defendants in the open court.
