Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State yesterday handed over 1, 117 live ammunitions and other weapons recovered from bandits in Lame- Burra forest by the renowned hunter in the state Alhaji Ali Kwara.
Speaking while handing over the recovered weapons to the state commissioner of police CP Philip Maku at the government house Bauchi, the governor applauded the partnership between the state government, security agencies and the renowned hunter in ensuring that peace prevails in the state.
He expressed his administration’s determination to continue to synergize with the renowned hunter as part of efforts to stop kidnappers, robbers and other criminals from migrating from other states to Bauchi.
The governor who thanked Alhaji Ali Kwara for facilitating the recovery of the arms pledged to provide the needed support to security agencies working in the state for effective discharge of their responsibilities.
In his remarks, the state commissioner of Police, Mr Philip Maku while receiving the recovered weapons said the police with the support of critical stakeholders, will ensure lasting peace in the state.
He used the medium to appeal to the entire citizens of the state to key into the police community engagement in security to enable police to rid the state of criminal activities.
Earlier, the renowned Hunter in the country, Alhaji Ali Kwara, said the arms and ammunition were recovered from bandits planning to conduct criminal activities in various places in the state.
