Oyo state coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe on Thursday hinted that 28 corps members were sanctioned while 24 others were remobilised in the state for contravening the act establishing NYSC.
Mrs Ogbuogede dropped this hint in Ibadan at the passing-out parade of the 2019 Batch ‘A’ corps members deployed to the state, held at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba.

According to the state NYSC coordinator, the service year of the 28 erring corps members will be extended according to the gravity of their offences, while the other 24 corps members will be remobilised due to their absence during the one-year mandatory service.
She said four corps members were rewarded for exhibiting outstanding performance through viable community development projects within their host communities during the one-year mandatory service.
“Those who exhibited outstanding performance and carried out viable community development projects within their host communities in the course of their one-year mandatory service will be rewarded while the few that contravened the Act establishing the NYSC will be sanctioned in accordance to NYSC bylaws,” she said.
Mrs Ogbuogede stressed that for the 2019 Batch A, 3,712 corps members were deployed to the state, out of which 1,694 were males while 2,018 were females.
