President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, decried the poor condition of the framework in Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps saying he has thought that it was hard to return to the camps on account of the sorry sights that stood up to him during his last visit in August 2019.

Buhari who expressed this while introducing the National Humanitarian Coordination Committee (NHCC) denounced those overseeing assets from Non-Governmental Organizations and global associations for the IDPs of being foolish saying recipients were not feeling the effect of the assets.

The NHCC is led by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajia Sadia Umar and National Security Adviser (NSA), Maj. Gen. Babagana Mungonu as co-Chairman. Buhari, be that as it may, said he needed the previous Minister of Defence,  Gen. Theophilius Danjuma (rtd) to head the board of trustees to guarantee responsibility of funds,  however, that he had argued to be pardoned contending that age was not on his side.

“I will get a kick out of the chance to offer a few remarks dependent on my visit to some Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps. I went just multiple times and from that point forward I have not returned in light of the fact that I was unable to stand it, it is extremely awful.

“The disgraceful scenes I saw pushed me to solicit one from the most regarded officers we had in the military, Gen. T. Y. Danjuma, at first to head this association. Since what we got from NGOs at times doesn’t saturate; doesn’t go down to the individuals there.

“On the off chance that you see the kids, they don’t have the foggiest idea about their dads, not to discuss where they originate from. So I needed to ask Gen. Danjuma to come and be in control with the goal that our assets are appropriately used in light of the fact that a few Nigerians are extremely foolish. They couldn’t care less whose cash it is they will place it in their own pockets.

“I needed to get Gen. Danjuma, however when he disclosed to me that age was not on his side, I got reports from educated people with the goal that we could set up a service that will arrange the exercises of NEMA and others so the sources can be appropriately represented.”
