Coronavirus: Yobe NSCDC mobilises 250 man response team

The Yobe State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), says it has set up a 250-man response team to enlighten and enforce compliance to Coronavirus (COVID-19) preventive guidelines in the state.

The State Commandant, Mr Ayinla Olowo, made this known on Friday while addressing newsmen in Damaturu.

“As directed by the Headquarters, that each state command deploys 250-man to ensure public compliance and enforcement of preventive measures against Coronavirus.

“This team will work with Centre for Disease Control (CDC), who agreed to train the 250 of our men and will work together to ensure compliance and enforcement of all medical directives and precautionary measures put in place by the state government.

He added that the team would go to public places such as motor parks, markets, religious centres among other places.

Olowo called on the people of the state to comply with the state government’s directive on how to prevent the spread of the disease to maintain its zero case status.

He said Yobe Command of (NSCDC) was ready to deal with the situation as it concerns enforcement of all directives aimed at prevention of the spread of the virus.

The command enjoined the people of the state to adhere strictly to the regulations and precautionary measures as advised by the state government.
