New Everton manager, Carlo Ancelotti, is tipped to embark on a major overhaul of his playing squad ahead of next summer as he seeks to stamp his identity on the team.

The Toffees have spent over £200 million on transfers this season with little to show for it on the pitch.

Super Eagles forward, Alex Iwobi, was part of this spending spree under previous manager Marco Silva, coming in for £34 million from Arsenal last summer.

The Nigeria international has not really lived up to his transfer fee due to injuries, but the liverpoolecho.co.uk believes the 23-year-old deserves a second chance.

The tabloid tipped seven players for the exit but, called for patience on Iwobi, insisting the Nigerian still had a lot to prove at Goodison Park.

“Another player who has had to deal with injury this season, it still feels like Evertonians haven’t seen the best from Iwobi.

“He seems to hit top form playing in an attacking midfield role, but seemingly will find more joy out wide under his new manager in a 4-4-2.

“The Nigeria international was playing his way back into contention before the suspension, and looks like he has the important tools to break down defences.”
