The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), and the Nigeria Police Force Wednesday said it discovered new gunmen hideout during a special operation at Walawa, Yadi and Kuduru Hills areas of Kaduna State.
The (NAF) Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, while disclosing this to newsmen wednesday said some of their logistics supplies were destroyed during the raid.
He said “This was achieved in a joint air and ground operation executed on 17 March, after credible intelligence reports and days of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance missions.
“It reveals that the gunmen, after driving away from the original inhabitants of the area, had continued to operate from the locations with impunity.
“Accordingly, the (NAF) detailed its attack aircraft to conduct a series of air raids at the bandits’ camps resulting in the destruction of some of the logistics facilities and structures housing the gunmen as well as the neutralisation of several of them.
“The airstrikes also paved the way for ground forces to conduct mop-up operations, supported by (NAFC) combat helicopters.
“In all, no fewer than five commanders of Ansaru and a dozen gunmen were neutralised in the operation.”
He also said the operation will do their best to ensure that gunmen are eradicated from the North West Zone of the country.
